Hello Everyone! How's it going? It has been 6 months since I'm joining GNML program "Social media for Social Change." In this program the participant has to choose 1 issue in their home community and make a campaign on social media. Then I chose brawling in Jakarta high school students for my specific issue, and started to share it through social media.
For me, this program is priceless. Beside I learned how to use social media for a positive purpose, I also gain more knowledge about what issue that happened in other countries. This experience led me to become more useful person, since I usually using social media just for fun. Now, I know I can use Social media for a positive changes! For me this experience open broader network with new friends from all over the world. I can discuss with all of new people from social media and get "richer" with knowledge. The best part is, learning that "sharing" with other people is super easy. Through social media, I can share everything and every time with people from all over the world.
The most challenging session for me is LinkedIn session. I never know about LinkedIn until there was a session to ask me to make LinkedIn account. I don't understand the purpose of this app before, It took me several time to read what is it for and to finish the assignment.
The most important single thing I learned is, how to catch up everything on social media. Because in social media, if we're not update our soc-med account frequently, people may forget it easily. In here, I learned how to engage people, make them read what we wrote, make people care then make a move.
CAMPAIGN FINAL REFLECTION
Blogger: First of all, I think writing on blog is my biggest weakness of all the social media. Posts on blog tend to have long writing and I'm not really good to write long paragraph. Later on, I have to work on my blog and make it better.
Twitter: I like twitter better than blog, because it's 140 characters long haha. People rather see shorter writing than the long one. I wrote some simple facts and pictures on my twitter. I think that's a good start to engage more people.
YouTube: I love youtube so much! I'm pretty good to mess around with video and make it good for my campaign. I just have to learn more and more to make it look more professional
Facebook: This one is the most familiar to me. So far I can handle it but to make it more professional and advance campaign, I still have to learn more .
Instagram: This social media is new to me. I never use instagram before, but I enjoyed it. some of the pictures were taken by me, and I edited it. So I think I'm doing good on Instagram.
LinkedIn: This one is the most confusing thing ever haha. I'm still trying to update my profile more, though. And I'm still trying to connect with lots of people that relates to my campaign.
Thank you GNML and all the staffs for gave me the chance to tried everything in this online course. I'm sure when I get back to my home country, I will share these knowledge to the local people :)
