Move to end student brawls
wins support

Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s move to stop student brawls has earned political support from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) faction at the City Council, who also said parents should play an important role in educating and monitoring their children.
Dwi Ria Sumbodo, a member of Commission E on education and social welfare at the council, said her commission and faction fully supported the governor’s quick response to handling juvenile crimes, including student brawls in the city.“Our faction appreciates the educative and humane approach deployed by the governor,” she said as quoted by tribunnews.comRia, who is also secretary of the PDI-P faction, said that parents should always monitor their kids. “Family is a moral gate after education,” she said.

interview with one of the ex-student

Hi readers!! How are you?
So...In this post, I'm gonna tell you a little interview that I've done with a friend of mine that used to involved in brawling/fighting when he was a high school student.

Here we go~

Q: what makes brawling(fighting) happen in Jakarta?
A: the main cause of fighting between high school students is : hostility between schools/the "hangout spot" that came from senior doctrine or classmates. another reasons they fight are :
-  to prove they have 'guts' and don't want to be called as a coward
- coercion from their senior to attack other school ( usually senior ask new underclassmen to do that)
- not dare to fight with bare hands
- influenced by friends
- addicted to violence/fight.
Q: What is the greatest cause of fighting?
A: the greatest reason for me are senior doctrine and self evidence ( to prove my self that I wasn't a coward)
Q: In your opinion, what do you think of brawling? good or bad?
A: In the past, I thought as long as they fight without any harm weapon was okay. It was just like a new addiction for me, I thought it was the most fun to do.
Q: Why do you think it was fun?
A: for me, I felt my adrenaline went all out during fighting. I felt so extreme and daredevil. The feeling when I fight was unbeatable..you know, I just was feeling so brave without thinking actually what I was doing. The feeling when I did racing or other bad thing was nothing compare to fighting.
Q: So..in your opinion: fighting is okay? Now, if you have a chance to choose to support anti-fighting or pro-fighting or careless about the issue, which one are you gonna choose?
A: After what I went through, I choose to support anti-fighting. Fighting is just absurd. Just don't! Don't try to do that!
Q: What do you think is the most effective way to decrease fighting in Jakarta?
A: well.. it has to come from the fighter itself, and they need something that make them regret to fight to stop them from fighting.

"Fighting is Absurd"
                               "Fighting is Absurd!!!!"

you know it will make you regret later. Don't you dare to try!
As he said above, to reduce fighting occur so often, they need something like a treatment to make them regret. So, friends, family, teacher, school, neighbor, police please step in together to solve this problem in Jakarta!
Convince your friend, family or whoever to stay away from fighting. Remember, don't let it grow as a culture..ew
