The Reasons of Fighting and Some Ways to Prevent it

Hi Readers! did you guys have a good christmas?? I hope y'all had a wonderful xmas, mine was really fun! Before the year end, I'd like to update the latest news about brawling in Jakarta,Indonesia.

According to National commission for child protection, in 2013 there are 255 cases of fighting among students. This number increased 112 cases from last year, which is a very significant number! It is a warning for all of us..the more people engaged in a fight, the more likely our future of our youth will be ruined. They are like the reflection of the previous generations of our country. Ask ourself, can we prevent fighting among youth?

These are some reasons that usually start the fight. Small reasons that end up with big fights.
- Pride or competing for power
- Social jealousy
- Feeling mocked or ridiculed
- Forced by situation or condition
- Arrogance
- Tradition/Alumni instruction (power of individuals in the group)
- (fad) fill the free time when out together with friends

How to prevent it? Here are some ways to prevent it:
- Counselling and character building. This way is the easiest way to prevent it. It can be done by anyone. Keep telling people about the risk of fighting and do personal approach are the simple way to prevent it. Even spread the campaign through social media and make it as a trend is a simple way to do it!
- The existence of strong delegates
- Mediation: open communication between the rivals

How to tackle it?
1. Strict punishment
2. Again, counselling, character building, personal approach
3. Provide a positive space for them that take part in doing something useful instead of fighting

This link website is continuance of my previous post about High School brawl in Jakarta that killed one student. As you read from the website: Appeal filed by the stabber was rejected by the Supreme Court. The stabber's lawyer said that he didn't killed the victim but he injured other students.
Bro,although you said you didn't killed him,harm other people is also one of the rule violation! *snap snap snap*

The latest news is they threw Acid when they attacked other students. Come on guys...you better play with acid in chemistry class. We should prevent this before it becomes further and they will use more advance stuff to attack people. How do I start that? It starts from us, from you who read this post. Help those who usually involved in brawling to realise. Or help yourself to get out of that "black future hole". Help our environment to stay away from brawling. How to do that? communicate! spread the words is the easiest way to do that! Say no to brawl = better culture + better future.

long history means it already happened for long time. "What's going on with this current generation??" This issue is really important for our next generation. Did you know that this is really destroying our moral and character. We don't want this thing become our next culture for high school-ers, do we????...
Dear readers, help to remind the people you loved, your friends,brother,sister,cousin,nephew, etc keep off from this issue. And dear parents,teacher,police, etc help to educate our children,students,citizen about moral and character. 
We have to move on guys! No country will have a bright future with this kind of future leader (student who brawl). And nothing easier to stop this action than spread the word as much as you could. Since we all using social media now, let's use it as our positive movement!. Start talking to your closest person, you save one moral and one life!

I'm Destri, the owner of the blog

I live in Indonesia,but I currently live in Wisconsin,USA for my exchange student year. I have a project from GNML (Global New Media Lab)

to make a social campaign through social media. I decided to choose a topic that is pretty serious among high-schoolers in my  hometown (Jakarta,Indonesia).

The problem is "brawling between high schools." Brawling is fighting, (it's just the old-fashioned way to say it :D). There are several schools that actively take part in brawling between schools. Most of the time, the reason for brawling is nonsense.They fight in the name of pride and solidarity. Once a student has a problem with an opposing school, then his friends have to defend him.They just want to show who is stronger between the battle. Some of them are great students with excellent grades at school. Too bad, if they fail because of this thing. I would like to tell them and help them to understand, this misconception of "solidarity" is stupidity that will bring regret later. Police can't do much about it, it usually happens quickly. Police usually come at the end of the incident. School also can't do much because they usually fight after school and far away from the school environment. 

It ain't cool, bro !

So, I want to remind all of you that read this blog, especially High School students. Don't let this grow as our future culture. We want our future leaders to be emotionally and mentally professional . If you want to show off your strength or pride or whatever, prove it in a right way. You better join a boxing club and join the competition rather than punch people on the face for nonsense reason. You will ruin your future, you will ruin other's future. Brawling is absolutely a wrong way to express friendship,solidarity,tradition,seniority or whatever. THAT IS NOT RIGHT!!!

Readers please spread this word through social media. Let's make more self-awareness toward this issue. We're all now connected each other through social media.

 I know social media can make it happen. So, I hope parents,police and school will be more aware and take more part toward this issue.
